Back from NYC - totally inspired

Just spent the most incredible week in NYC and I'm back, brimming with ideas and inspiration. Got some great plans for 2010. More posts to follow but in the meantime ...

** FREE TO GOOD HOME **

This season's latest platform wedges, BRAND NEW, UNWORN...

..... Ideal candidate must have 2 right feet....

That's right (pardon the pun) look closely!

Thank you 'Brand Alley' for once again cocking up my order. Shame I bought them in Winter and stored them until now to try them on and realise the mistake. :-(

Honestly... Anyone want them, or they're ending up in the bin!

Margaret

This is Margaret. She was in Brighton last weekend for the Mini convention. Margaret clearly loves these kind of things and is obviously ecstatic to be taking part and wasn't at all coerced into being there, or in fact, being a mini enthusiast by her husband [insert name such as Arthur here] at all.
I think Margaret is an inspiration to us all, and her motto 'Get in, sit down, shut up, and hold on' is one helluva philosophy for life.

Illustrated dance

I love this. It's M.I.A s backing dancers from her Coachella gig. It's not a look I'd wear personally but I'm mesmorised by the way it looks like animation, yet captures accurate movement, obviously.

Hey-na, hey-naaaa...

...my boyfriend's back.
And he bought me a whole lotta pink.

Flat screen finger tapping

I'm sitting in an edit suite meant to be working but Dan, my copywriter just produced his spanking new iPad and I'm having a play round with it. I feel so hi-tech right now. Anyways, so this is the official first Ladysquad iPad update.

I'm definitely getting one of these. Just because I like typing on a flat screen.

Over and out ladies.

This is a bag

Really, it is.
Imagine this sitting on the table in the pub.
It's by Timmy Woods and it's available here

Love to love you (babay)

Londoners. We get a lot of stick for being a pretty miserable bunch most of the time who love nothing more than queuing and complaining. And it's true, rush hour alone turns hundreds of otherwise rational people into teeth baring, 'for-fuck's-sake'-ing, down right aggressive beasts. But when the sun shines... now that's a different story. Sunglasses and smiles come out, clothes come off and pavements fill up after work. It might only be 10 degrees out, but London & Londoners are lovely in the sunshine. Pucker up.

And then, out of nowhere, Mark Owen appeared

I was out filming Goks Fashion Fix idents the other week. We were on the street, watching the filming and then suddenly Mark Owen from Take That appeared and asked if we had a catering van and if he could get a coffee and other general chit chat.

Nice fella. Very surreal random experience.

The best door handles in the world EVER

On Thursday night, the lovely Missy invited me to a private party at Proud Caberet. We took over the loos while we applied glittery eyeshadow and tweaked our makeup. Missy really burlesqued it up in a basque, the hot chick!

Such a good night, my favourite was the Marilyn Monroe lady, she was very stunnning.  And the door handles, genius.

Let's all go here again Ladysquadders.

Brick Lane rainy day out

Highlights from a rainy day in Brick Lane with the lovely Barrie Cradshaw.
Swedish Lunch at Fika with a glass of Elderflower wine.
Bag spotting.
Vintage 80's stonewashed denim buying.
Cheeky cocktail in the Hookah Lounge.
Gossiping and giggling.
Straw beret, a right result from Beyond Retro. I tried on a black, silk tuxedo style jumpsuit but then decided not to buy it. Then I got home and there was a designer one, practically the same, in Vogue for £175. Damnit. Vintage fashion fail, I should've just bought it.

Just got back from seeing this

Four Lions, Chris Morris's new release. If you get a chance, go see it. It's funny, not as Chris Morris-controversial as I thought it might be, but it was also quite heartwarming and pointed out some great failings as well as warmth of human beings as well as being a huge comment on the 7/7 London bombings.

Happy Election Week!!

Hi Ladysquadders! This week the nation votes for the person leading us into the next 4 years. Still not sure who to vote for, but happy to see all the candidates are working hard to try to sway us!

Today Nick Clegg is campaigning in our local area. Each Friday for the past 3 weeks all the candidates have been interviewed by Jeremy Paxman in the new offices next to Vodafone HQ in Paddington where I work. Luckily both buildings have floor to ceiling windows and I have a great zoom on my phone. I got a birds eye view of David Cameron being quizzed. The best campaign I've seen this week is in the window of Coco De Mer in Covent Garden. They were campaigning for the General ERECTION! I definitely think that's one I'd vote for! ;-)

Konnichi-wa Lady Squad!!

Thanks Rach for setting this up.. Still getting the hang of this, not like my fellow seasoned bloggers.. I just need to make sure to write about my adventures and fun stuff I find!! :-)

Latest adventure: Japanese classes. First lesson yesterday and am mortified that the teacher ONLY speaks and writes in Japanese! I thought it was supposed to be a beginners class!! I guess a bank holiday weekend full of homework is on the cards!? Dammit!!!

Past month adventures.... It's a little bit late to blog about it, but went to the world premier of Clash of the Titans. Fun, boozy night. Shame about the film.... :-p
