New Art

The latest addition to our art collection has just been posted on ThatHipsterPorn. It's a Mark Ward original painting that we spotted at his most recent show. Me and fella saw it, looked at each other knowingly then frogmarched across to Mr Ward himself and bagsied it immediately.

RockGroup

A few Ladysquadders hung around in East London on Sunday in the on/off sunshine watching the RockGroup boys do their thing underneath a Heron Tower backdrop. I filmed the whole thing so of course, there's an appearance from Mrs DSC that's sneaked in there.
Nice work boys. The zing of colour was a lovely surprise.

It's arrived!

So after all the volcanic ash and flights fiasco my Lyle Owerko print finally arrived today!

It's been across the Atlantic and back, twice, then ended up in Spain, the Cologne, lost it's tube cap then eventually ended up in London. I haven't taken it out of the tube yet because I requested a large print, about 1metre in widt, and it was too huge to get out at work.

I cannot wait to get it home and check it out.

I also cannot begin to express how brilliant it has been corresponding with the man himself. So friendly, such a pleasure to deal with, professional, massive attention to detail and very accommodating. All in all a great experience at buying an art print. I'm really really pleased I bought it. He's going to blow up huge as a Boombox book is due out at the end of May and London art auctions are already taking interest in his work. Not that I'll be selling mine. No way Jose.

Here's the one I ordered but click on the link above to  see all the others available and Lyle's other work in his portfolio.

Continuous Conjunction by Pakpoom Silaphan

We ventured West last night for Pakpoom Silaphan's show at Ap-Art Gallery in Westbourne Grove.
The artist collected all of the signage growing up in the countryside of Thailand and adds icons such as Warhol, McQueen, Elvis and Lennon in white emulsion and black marker pen.
My man correctly predicted which piece I would buy if I had the cash. He's very good like that. It's shot no1. The Steve McQueen one with him looking super hot.

The Rock Group were present, don't recognise their new member though.

Totally Random

I popped in to the Random Cuts Show last night. If you were in the area and wondering what a giant skull was doing hanging down the side of the pub, then this is why ...
Well done Mr Steve for putting together such a big collection of fantastic work, and mainly for carrying the big skull home at the end of the night. Ooo and also for getting the french rapper girl with the toilet roll around her neck to perform. She was uh-mazing.
And the shop! The shop was ace. I'm proper kitted out but I'll save that for my next post.
Highlights below.

A big shout goes out to Mrs RandomCuts boobs who were on featured in a piece of the art.
